Hello, I’m Caitlin Williams, a costume designer, makeup and wig artist, and wardrobe technician. Over the course of three years at Purdue University, I’ve contributed to nine productions in various roles, including Costume and Makeup Designer, Assistant Designer, and Wardrobe Head. Additionally, I worked professionally as a one-person wardrobe team for a Full Steam Ahead Productions show that performed in Chicago, managing costume quick changes, repairs, and providing detailed hair and makeup services. I have also worked professionally at Music Theatre Wichita for their 2025 season as Wardrobe Crew and Northern Stage as Wardrobe Overhire.

Design: I’m passionate about the small details and thoughtful design choices that bring stories to life. I believe we can further impact audiences by looking deeper into the psychology of costume design to tell more effective stories. I combine my degree in Neuroscience with my experience in Costume Design to expand the impact of storytelling abilities that costumes can have. Whether I’m creating costumes, designing makeup, or supporting other designers through detailed notes and organized paperwork as an assistant designer, I strive to enhance every aspect of a production.

Wardrobe: I also enjoy the fast-paced energy of wardrobe work, from quick changes to costume maintenance. Consent-based practices are my number one priority, whether in a quick change or fitting. I want every actor and wardrobe member to feel safe and comfortable and have the open communication needed for such intimate work. I strive to always communicate heavily with my actors of what is happening and provide them with tools to keep clear communication about their boundaries between us. These experiences have deepened my love for collaboration and the teamwork that drives theatre, ensuring every production runs smoothly and leaves a lasting impact.
